I am still planning to do a font/typography based concentration--using text visually and exploring the relationship between visual cues within fonts and the written words--involving pictures as well.
I am kind of leaning towards doing a lot of silkscreening for this--especially using photos, which I haven't done before. Perhaps a progression of a basic font I design, then fonts as pure form, then fonts interacting with photos...progressing to a more complex exploration of statements and fonts juxtaposed with photos (would I have to take them?)
Anyway, I like this (Polish?) movie poster for Fatal Attraction a lot. The circular arm/snake is sweet graphically (and has interesting implications) Regardless, a very interesting style--seems simultaneously modern and sort of old--retro? especially with the stylized hand and the flatness.
Also, Soviet propaganda...always so cool!
